About The Boathouse
American Bistro and Sushi Bar
From his small village of Kertezi, Greece to Lakeville, Connecticut, Peter Stefanopoulos built a life around food and hospitality. He brought the traditions of his Greek culture and heritage, his experience as being one of the owners and founders of Four Brothers Pizza, and molded The Boathouse into what it is today. Bringing all types of foods and favorite cuisines under one roof, where everyone can enjoy.
Raised in Greece, he grew up close to the rhythms of farming and the work behind good food. He carried that with him to America, eventually starting a 70 acre farm in Millerton, New York. When Peter took on The Boathouse, he shaped it into a place where that connection still matters. The farm’s animals, its harvest, and the care that goes into raising and growing food have all found a place in the restaurant’s story. Today, The Boathouse reflects those values Peter brought with him from The Motherland: a respect for the land, a love of good food, and a warm welcome for the community he now calls home. His connection and love to this place will always be the driving force behind our story.

Our History
In 2003, Peter Stefanopoulos found the Boathouse as the answer to his quest for an exquisite fine dining establishment. As a successful restaurant owner, Peter had spent his career creating the Four Brothers Pizza Inn. He used his restaurant experience to strengthen the Boathouse establishment and further enhance the local gem that everyone had grown to love.
For years, the Boathouse has been a thriving establishment in Lakeville, Connecticut offering a special culinary experience to locals in town, as well as serving people from far and wide. It also quickly cemented its popularity amongst boarding school students by offering a warm and comforting environment for families to reconnect over a delicious meal. Accordingly, the Boathouse has paid homage to the local schools by creating and naming specialty sushi roles for each. The supplemental extensive sushi menu compliments their main menu, which offers a variety of classic American dishes, seafood and more.
